Scientific debate on intelligence and parapsychological potential at the faculty of Ibn al-Haytham
The cultural relations unit at the college of education for pure sciences (Ibn al-Haytham) at Baghdad University held a scientific debate entitled “multiple intelligences and parapsychological potential”, sponsored by the dean of the college, Assistant Prof. Dr. Khaled Fahad Ali. The debate was between Dr. Mohammad Shihab Ahmed, Prof. of Arabic language and Quranic sciences who has a mental talent in mathematical calculation, numbers, photographic memory and capabilities in Quranic miracles and a scientific committee consisted of Prof. Dr. luma Najy, specialized in mathematics, Prof. Dr. Majda Al-Bawi, specialized in physics, Prof. Ismail Ibrahim, specialized in psychology, Assistant Prof. Buthaina Nejad Shihab, specialized in mathematics, Assistant Prof. Dr. Mohammad Qasim Laiby, specialized in Arabic language and Quranic miracles from the college of education (Ibn Rushd). The debate started with the divine abilities mentioned in Quran where the committee asked Dr. Mohammad about the verses of the Quran where he gives the verse name and the number of verses in when they mention any word from Quran. Then they tested his ability in mental calculation and numbers. Open discussion was opened with the audience regarding some philosophical miracles and at last the dean granted a book of acknowledgments and the college shield due to his mathematical talents and his unique memory that can be of great benefit in the service of science and education.
