Lecture on the use of laser securely in various scientific applications at institute of laser for postgraduate studies

  A lecture was delivered at the institute of laser for post graduate studies at Baghdad University entitled “American national standard for safe and (optimized) use of laser in health care” by the teacher Dr. Temara Sardar Mohamed saeed in the presence of the dean of the institute of genetic engineering at Baghdad University, prof. Dr. Abdul Hussein al-Faisal, director of the department of quality assurance and university performance at the university, Dr. Marwan Abdul Hamid Ashur, in the presence of a number of instructors, administrators, doctors, master’s, doctoral and diploma students in medicine at the institute. The lecture dealt with a detailed scientific explanation of quality assurance of laser, its division according to his energy and the criteria for minimal level the damages that accompany its use for eye and skin primarily or other impacts in general, as well as the most important side risks and long-term cumulative effects. Also the lecture shed light on explaining the basic standards of prevention when using lasers in health and industrial facilities such as the engineering standards that include the use of warning labels, light signals, security locks in addition to administrative standards that of great significance to ensure the quality of laser clinics and personnel efficiency. At the end of the lecture, the dean of the institute and the attendants exchanged different opinions on the possible ways to improve the optimal use of lasers in various scientific fields, as well as issuing controls and instructions that limit the random or undeliberate use of laser.
