The department of quality assurance and university performance at Baghdad University held a specialized symposium and a second training course within its operational plan for the current year in the field of application of (ISO) (17025) and good laboratory standards (GLP) that represent laboratories used for analytical, chemical and physical experiments. This symposium aims to activate the plan of the ministry of higher education and scientific research in Iraqi universities to develop and rehabilitate laboratories and quality assurance divisions according to global standards. Head of department of quality assurance and university performance at Baghdad University, assistant prof. Dr. Marwan Abdul Hamid Ashur asserted that the university will adopt these laboratories for the first time in the Middle East in all Iraqi universities. All quality assurance divisions at the university participated in this symposium under the supervision of the department of laboratory accreditation at the scientific supervision and evaluation body at the ministry of higher education and scientific research.
